New water bill is coming April 1
The way Peel charges for water and wastewater services is changing. Modifications to our water bill are the result of a detailed, multi-year financial planning process to ensure rates are fair and customers are billed based on the cost of providing services to them.
Instead of a single consumption charge, single-unit residential customer bills will now have two separate charges: a service delivery charge and a consumption charge. The reason for this change is partly due to the increased costs of delivering water and wastewater services. Most of our expenses are fixed costs, meaning the charge stays the same throughout a specific period.
